A luxury hotel in Fredericksburg, Texas has had our team chatting in anticipation for many months, and now, the doors are finally open at the Albert Hotel. This new property blends history, culture, cuisine and modern comforts, along with a touch of elegance from the talents of several Austin-based creatives.

Developed by Austin’s New Waterloo hospitality management company, the hotel occupies two acres in the heart of Fredericksburg, incorporating limestone facades in front of the new structure, blending it seamlessly along Main Street.

Honoring the history of Fredericksburg

The hotel pays homage to Albert Keidel, a key figure in Fredericksburg’s history.

“Albert had an uncanny ability to take the lid off a place and look underneath, to see a place for exactly what it is and perhaps, more importantly, see what it could be,” says General Manager Mike Bolick. “We’ve channeled that spirit into every corner of the hotel, creating a space that honors the past while embracing the future.”

Top-notch design collaboration

Albert Hotel’s architecture, designed by Clayton Korte, paired with interiors designed by Melanie Raines, combines Hill Country charm with modern sophistication. The hotel includes 105 guest rooms with amenities such as a full-service spa and a stunning limestone pool inspired by the natural swimming holes of the Hill Country. Rooms feature custom built-ins, large tiled showers and rich, green color palettes.

Austin-based firm Word & Carr Design Group designed the grounds to include shaded lawns and courtyards, offering tranquil spaces for relaxation.

The hotel’s branding was crafted by Austin firm Guerilla Suit, a creative agency known for its work with iconic Texas brands.

An array of dining options

Dining highlights include The Saloon, a whiskey and beer bar, The Pharmacy, a market offering coffee and local sweet treats, and The Restaurant at Albert Hotel, serving seasonal dishes curated by renowned Austin chef Michael Fojtasek. Additionally, Junebugs will open in March 2025 and serve Texas-style BBQ.
