Excitement is stirring about the world’s biggest soccer spectacle arriving in Texas this summer, and for those seeking an experience that matches the magnitude of the FIFA World Cup 2026, Hôtel Swexan and Cirrus Aviation Services have unveiled their “Runway to Rivalry” experience for Austin travelers to attend the Dallas events in style.

Recently invited on a press trip to experience this first hand (minus an actual sporting match), we can attest that the journey itself is as unforgettable as the destination.

Hospitality at high altitude

The day began at Million Air Austin, where the usual airport stress dissolved into a calm, elevated welcome. There were no long security lines, no crowded gates — just a lovely first-class lounge setting. From there, we were whisked aboard a stunning private jet via Theos, operated by Cirrus Aviation Services.

Inside the private jet, rich wood paneling set a stylish tone against soft, creamy leather seats, creating an atmosphere that felt like a private lounge. We were handed chilled mimosas, surrounded by thoughtful touches like fresh floral arrangements and curated snacks. The onboard service was impeccable, with both the pilot and a dedicated plane host ensuring every detail was taken care of. In just over 30 minutes, we were descending into Dallas Love Field.

Hôtel Swexan’s Swiss style + Texas charm

Upon landing, the luxury continued. A private car awaited us on the tarmac, ready to transport us directly to Hôtel Swexan, one of Dallas’s most stylish newer hotel properties. Located in the Harwood District, the hotel overlooks the dynamic Rolex Building designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The hotel’s design blends European elegance with modern sensibility. The design of each room felt richly curated, from the cozy bar to the sunken library and rooftop pool overlooking the city.

Dining at the hotel was a highlight in itself. Lunch at Léonie offered refined Italian cuisine in a room full of plants and natural light. Dinner at Stillwell’s, a Michelin-recognized steak house, delivered an equally elevated experience. Cocktails at Isabelle’s set the tone for the evening, and for those seeking something even more on property, there is a Salvador Dalí–inspired speakeasy tucked on the hotel’s lower level for an unexpected layer of surprise.

Craftsmanship, old and new

Beyond the hotel, our press trip’s itinerary included a focus on cultures through craftsmanship, beginning with a hands-on hat-making experience at McKinney Hat Company, where we had the opportunity to customize our own hats to reflect personal style. This is also part of the hotel’s year-round “Cowboy Concierge” service.

The Dallas getaway also included a visit to The Samurai Collection, home to the Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum. There, centuries-old samurai armor crafted between the fifth and nineteenth centuries revealed a sense of identity and artistry. Set within the historic St. Ann’s School building, the museum’s curated collection highlights how objects can transcend function to become expressions of character.
