The Red River Cultural District is launching “District Dialogues,” a quarterly event series spotlighting the history and culture of Austin’s iconic music hub. The debut event on March 1 at Swan Dive features rare screenings of “Blue Flamingo” and “The Cavity,” two documentaries capturing the legacy of legendary venues and artists that shaped the district.
Filmmakers and authors Richard Whymark, Greg Beets and Chepo Peña will lead post-screening discussions, sharing insights into Austin’s underground music scene of the ‘90s. Attendees can enjoy a taco pop-up from Pelon’s Tex-Mex and receive an exclusive Red River zine.
Tickets are limited, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Red River Cultural District’s mission to preserve and promote Austin’s live music culture.
