The debut event on March 1 at Swan Dive features rare screenings of “Blue Flamingo” and “The Cavity,” two documentaries capturing the legacy of legendary venues and artists that shaped the district.
Filmmakers and authors Richard Whymark, Greg Beets and Chepo Peña will lead post-screening discussions, sharing insights into Austin’s underground music scene of the ‘90s. Attendees can enjoy a taco pop-up from Pelon’s Tex-Mex and receive an exclusive Red River zine.
Tickets are limited, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Red River Cultural District’s mission to preserve and promote Austin’s live music culture.

The Paramount Theatre invites music lovers and supporters to its 110th Anniversary Gala on May 10, 2025, transforming Congress Avenue into a Texas dance hall for an unforgettable evening of live music, dining, and fundraising.
Headlining the event is Grammy Award-winning Texas legend Lyle Lovett and His Large Band, known for his genre-defying musical style that blends country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel, and blues. The night will also feature performances by Kelly Willis & Brennen Leigh and rising star Pedal Steel Noah.
The gala serves a crucial mission for the Paramount & State Theatres. By attending, supporters will directly contribute to advancing world-class and diverse programming across various genres. The event will help support arts education, reaching 35,000 Central Texas students through innovative in-person programs.

Carrie Rodriguez’s Laboratorio concert series debuts on the historic Paramount Theatre stage on May 17, 2025, with indie rock band Calexico. Known for blending music, storytelling, and visual arts to celebrate Latino culture, Laboratorio is an acclaimed Austin series curated by singer-songwriter and violinist Carrie Rodriguez. Calexico, the Tucson-based band renowned for their fusion of rock, Latin, and Southwest-inspired sounds, will join Rodriguez and the all-star Laboratorio band for this one-of-a-kind performance.
