Austin Brands Kitty & Vibe and HarperSage Team Up for Whimsical Swimwear Collaboration
Explore the colorful, limited-edition collection featuring thoughtful design, ethical production and inclusive sizing

A colorful new collaboration between two Austin fashion brands is arriving just in time for summer. Local labels Kitty & Vibe and HarperSage have joined forces on a limited-edition swimwear collection that blends technical fit expertise with playful, vintage-inspired design.
The limited-edition line marks a full-circle moment for Kitty & Vibe founder Cameron Armstrong, whose inclusive swimwear brand launched eight years ago in New York City before relocating to Austin four years ago. The partnership itself was inspired directly by the brand’s customer community.
“In a design survey that we sent out last fall, we asked our community who they would like to see us work with and collaborate with on a product collab,” Armstrong said. “And that’s how I found HarperSage.”
After realizing Meghan Herman was also based in Austin, Armstrong reached out. The partnership quickly felt natural for both founders, who discovered shared values around ethical manufacturing, women-owned production and thoughtful design.
The collection
The resulting line leans into floral prints, sporty silhouettes and colorful contrast detailing. Herman, who led much of the visual direction for the collaboration, said the pair wanted the collection to feel playful, modern and rooted in the city’s personality.
“We’re both from Austin, we want it to kind of be rooted in Austin but not be so literal,” Herman said. “So that’s kind of why we went more in the wildflower direction.”
Beyond swimwear, the line also includes ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, including a floral rash guard, a quilted denim tote bag, linen separates and soft cotton pants made from hand-sourced fabrics from India.
Armstrong said the collaboration felt natural because both brands approached the collection with a similar level of intentionality — from HarperSage’s attention to design details to Kitty & Vibe’s focus on fit.
“It was a really nice cohesive match between the two of us,” Armstrong said. “I think that’s why the collection is so strong because we both got to bring what we’re best at.”

Built around fit, design and ethical production
That fit-focused approach has become central to Kitty & Vibe’s identity. The brand has built a loyal following for its inclusive sizing model, particularly its bikini bottoms, which are designed with two gusset lengths for every hip size to better accommodate different body shapes.
Armstrong said the company was born out of frustration with traditional swimwear sizing and the anxiety often associated with shopping for swimsuits.
“It’s the least amount of clothing we wear in public, yet it seems to be a product that has just not had a lot of care put into the fit,” Armstrong said.
Rather than relying on traditional fashion grading practices, Kitty & Vibe developed multiple fit samples across its size range, making adjustments for different body types instead of scaling from a single sample size.
“We wanted to make sure that we made fine-tune adjustments across the whole size range,” Armstrong said. “So it actually fits the body better and is not just like an equation built on a size small.”
To celebrate the collaboration, HarperSage will host a launch party on Saturday, May 9, from noon to 3 p.m. at 4803 Burnet Road. The event will include first access to shop the collection, cocktails and mocktails, interactive games, giveaways and activations. The limited-edition collection is available online and at HarperSage until sold out.
