The days are getting hotter in Austin, making it a challenge to explore the city without breaking a sweat. While local swimming holes offer some relief from the sun, neighborhood bars and restaurants provide another way to cool down—with refreshing frozen cocktails. Here are 5 businesses serving up chilly drinks to help you battle the Texas heat.

Wicky’s Walkup

Located in East Austin, Wicky’s Walkup is a combination bodega and notary public that provides lunch items, snacks and a variety of to-go drinks. The ‘swamp-tiki’-themed corner store currently has four flavors of frozen daiquiris on the menu: Orange Dream (made with vodka), Fruit Fuel (made with rum), Keanu Breeze (made with cucumber vodka) and Red Headed Stranger (made with mezcal). All of Wicky’s daiquiris are crafted with real fruit and fresh juices.

Revelry Kitchen + Bar

This bustling bar and restaurant on East 6th is a great place to hang with friends and watch the Austin FC game. Revelry offers brunch and dinner menus (think burgers, tacos and chicken wings) with both indoor seating and outdoor patio space. On hot days, stop in for a frozen Mango Margarita or Strawberry Daiquiri. The frosty beverages are sure to make the summer temperature more bearable.

Kinda Tropical

Beloved for its coffee, cocktails and savory bites, Kinda Tropical is a Govalle neighborhood bar and restaurant with abundant outdoor seating. Popular menu items include the Pulled Jackfruit Sandwich and Cuban Yucca Fries served with Jalapeño Avocado dip. Kinda Tropical’s relaxing atmosphere is best enjoyed with a frozen cocktail in hand. Manuel’s

Famous for its margaritas and traditional Mexican cuisine, Manuel’s has been serving Austin residents for more than 36 years. The restaurant’s frozen house margarita can be modified with a number of fruit options (mango, strawberry, guava, prickly pear, pomegranate, or fresh watermelon). Featuring American pub fare in the Brentwood neighborhood, Revelry on the Boulevard is the sister location to east side’s Revelry Kitchen + Bar. Both spots are part of Austin FC’s Pub Club, meaning they’re official sports bars to watch all Austin FC soccer games.
