For sisters Stephanie Brown and Melanie Arguello, Saint Louise Design is an expression of their shared vision for personalized, thoughtful design. The sister-led interior design firm based in Austin specializes in full-home furnishings, remodels and new construction for busy, design-minded families. Luckily for the sisters, their familial telepathy is one of their biggest assets.

“There is a certain sisterly telepathy that makes the daily work so much fun,” says Brown. “We often finish each other’s sentences and usually know exactly what the other is thinking during a site visit without saying a word. Our familial shorthand creates a level of trust and efficiency that is hard to find anywhere else.”

Designing personal, lived-in spaces

You can sense the intimate and familial nature of the firm even beginning with its name — a fictional name the sisters created to honor their history.

“Saint Louise is a sweet nod to our birth city of Saint Louis and to our Great Grandmother Louise whose name represents family, strength and legacy,” said Arguello. “Our childhood was actually very nomadic and we moved often which gave us a unique perspective on what it means to truly feel at home. This name unifies us as sisters and celebrates the connection we bring to every home we design.”

Both Brown and Arguello have deep roots in design prior to joining forces. Brown spent years in New York City as a wedding floral designer, sharpening her eye for composition, color and that delicate balance of making something look both effortless and luxurious. Arguello comes from the world of commercial real estate leasing, saying that experience taught her how to look at a floor plan to understand exactly how people move through a space.

These skills intersect at Saint Louise Design to create a firm known for its warm, hospitality-driven approach, the firm takes the time to deeply understand each client’s lifestyle before making a single design decision. They say every project begins with listening: how the family gathers, how mornings unfold and how holidays are hosted. The result is a home that feels personal, intuitive and entirely their own.

Spaces built to last

“When you work with us, you are not just a project on a calendar — you are a guest in our world,” says Brown. “It is not just about the schematics and the tile samples. It is about the way you feel throughout the entire journey. Our goal is to make sure you feel heard and supported every single step of the way because a truly elevated home should feel like a warm invitation from the very first meeting.”

With a clear process and a high standard of execution, Saint Louise Design collaborates closely with homeowners, architects and builders to create cohesive, highly functional spaces built to last. The firm values longevity over trends, and designing homes that feel elevated yet inviting — disciplined yet full of life.
