As temperatures begin to cool and fall gets underway, Round Top is calling. With some of the season’s biggest shows just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to take a closer look at the work of Sparrow Interiors.
Little Sparrow, Big Reach
Nestled on three peaceful acres of pastureland, Little Sparrow is the latest project from Austin-based Sparrow Interiors. The full-service interior design studio and gift shop has helped Austinites furnish their homes with carefully selected pieces and thoughtful gifts, tailoring each project to the client’s goals and tastes.
Sparrow Interiors owner Elizabeth Bellagio is a Round Top regular, drawn to the town’s slower pace, close-knit design community and one-of-a-kind treasures. Bellagio wanted more than a comfortable place to stay. She envisioned a space where she could entertain clients and guests, rest after a day in the dusty fields and enjoy the outdoors. Thus, Little Sparrow was born.
Designed With Intention
The design combines old and new pieces to preserve the vintage character for which Round Top is known while incorporating contemporary elements. Bellagio sourced distinctive pieces from Round Top vendors, keeping the design connected to the area’s roots and distinctive aesthetic.
She also relied on her industry contacts to bring custom craftsmanship into the home, creating and revitalizing pieces that reflect the character of Little Sparrow and Round Top. Bellagio gave existing drapery a life, created custom cowhide ottomans, and partnered with a pillow maker and upholsterer to bring in special headboards and finishing touches. Each decision was intended to bring the spirit of Sparrow Interiors and Round Top into the new home.
Fabrics were sourced from notable vendors, including Thibaut, Nina Campbell, Etro, Osborne & Little and Colefax & Fowler. Wallcoverings from Jane Churchill, Thibaut and Holland & Sherry add depth, pattern and character throughout the home. Furniture and lighting came from vendors including Four Hands, Bernhardt, Visual Comfort and Arteriors, complementing the vintage finds with contemporary elements.
Last but certainly not least is the custom furniture from Massoud. The living room features a custom Massoud sofa and side chairs. Sparrow Interiors is a verified Massoud showroom in the Austin area, offering clients the opportunity to customize furniture with a wide selection of fabrics. Bellagio said the company’s Dallas-based production, competitive pricing, extensive customization options and quick lead times make it a valuable resource for creating pieces that feel both tailored and accessible.
Little Sparrow represents the culmination of everything Sparrow Interiors has to offer. The home brings together vintage finds, contemporary furnishings, custom furniture, pillows, upholstery, accessories and artwork. Although it may be called Little Sparrow, the finished space makes a significant impression.
