With her sultry vocals and retro-inspired synth melodies, Austin-based musician Molly Burch’s latest studio album, Romantic Images, calls to mind disco and dream pop records from the past. The new album launched on July 23rd from Captured Tracks.
Starting in September, Burch will hit the road for a fall tour promoting her new work. One of the first stops will be Mohawk Austin on Saturday, September 18 for a special record release show presented by KUTX and Resound Presents.
Burch says her latest release is a lyrical evolution from her previous work: “I’ve written quite a bit about anxiety and heartbreak in the past,” explains Burch in a statement, “but this record is more inspired by confidence and self-love.”
Romantic Images was produced with Alaina Moore and Pat Riley of the band Tennis. Burch will open for Tennis on many of her upcoming tour dates. She will headline at Mohawk for her album release show.
Raised in Los Angeles, Burch later studied jazz vocal performance at UNC Asheville in North Carolina. Her previous works include her full-length debut album Please Be Mine (2017), First Flower (2018), and The Molly Burch Christmas Album (2019). She is signed to Captured Tracks and lives in Austin, Texas.
