New Austin Pop-Up Bars to Try This Summer
Discover three immersive pop-up bars to add to your summer bucket list before they’re gone

A pirate hideaway, a sitcom-inspired restaurant and a tucked-away hotel lounge are giving Austinites something new to explore this season. Beyond the decor, each concept offers its own mix of creative menus and over-the-top decor. Since none of them will be around for long, it is worth making plans before their final last call.

“The Golden Girls” Kitchen at Wanderlust Wine Co.
610 N. Interstate 35
A traveling pop-up inspired by the beloved sitcom “The Golden Girls” opens Aug. 20 in downtown Austin, featuring themed food, cocktails and plenty of 1980s nostalgia. Each ticket includes reserved seating, an entree, a cocktail or mocktail and a slice of cheesecake. The space recreates familiar settings from the series, including the kitchen table, lanai and Blanche’s banana leaf-covered bedroom. Special events like drag brunches, trivia nights and sing-alongs are also planned throughout the limited run.

Shipwreck’d at The Eleanor
307 W 5th St.
Pirate costumes are optional at Shipwreck’d, but they do come with a discount. The Eleanor’s summer pop-up transforms the downtown space into a nautical hideaway through Aug. 30, with cocktails, zero-proof drinks, large-format pours and bar bites from the team behind The Roosevelt Room. Happy hour runs daily from 3-6 p.m., when cocktail orders include a complimentary shot, and guests dressed in full pirate attire receive 10% off food and drinks.

The Hidden Flask at Four Seasons Austin
98 San Jacinto Blvd.
Four Seasons Austin has once again transformed one of its specialty suites into The Hidden Flask, a speakeasy-inspired lounge open through Sept. 3. The intimate pop-up pairs vintage decor with cocktails and small bites in a setting that feels tucked away from the rest of the hotel. This year’s run also features a rotating lineup of guest bartenders, including talent from Austin bars and visiting mixologists from across the country, giving repeat visits something new to discover.
