Bird Bird Biscuit Claims #5 Spot on Yelp’s Top 100 U.S. Restaurants List in 2022
The neighborhood eatery shares free sandwiches to celebrate top ranking
Bird Bird Biscuit has been a local favorite since its opening in 2018, and now it has been recognized nationally with the fifth spot on Yelp’s Top 100 U.S. Restaurants List in 2022.
The restaurant is one of only two Texas-based businesses that made the prestigious list, with El Paso’s Nomi securing spot #57. Known for having lines out the door at the original spot in East Austin, Bird Bird Biscuit also recently opened a second location in Brentwood.

“What makes this moment so special is it was our customers’ love and appreciation for our food that put us at the top of Yelp’s Top 100 List,” says Brian Batch, co-owner of Bird Bird Biscuit.
To determine what makes the cut, Yelp first asked its users to submit restaurants that they can’t wait to return to in 2022. The company’s data science team then analyzed the submissions from the community to determine the top restaurants through ratings, number of reviews and volume of submissions. To finalize the rankings, Yelp curated the list with its community managers from around the country.

“Yelp’s engaged community of locals who share their experiences and reviews is what enables us to connect people with great local businesses,” says Brenae Leary, Senior Communications Manager at Yelp. “We are excited to help Bird Bird Biscuit celebrate their achievement with Austinites by offering 100 free biscuits starting tomorrow morning.”
The eatery’s signature items start with their scratch-made buttermilk biscuits that become delicious, indulgent sandwiches. Favorites include the Queen Beak, which features a fried chicken breast, cayenne black pepper honey and bacon-infused chipotle mayo, and the Bird Bird Bacon, a classic breakfast sandwich with an over-medium egg, bacon and cheddar.
With two successful locations and this exciting honor from Yelp, the team at Bird Bird Biscuit is determined to keep the momentum going.
“We hope to use 2022 to focus on consistency,” says Ryan McElroy, co-owner of Bird Bird Biscuit. “Our goal is to continue to build on the relationship we have with the community by showing up each day and being our best.”

To celebrate their placement on the list, the neighborhood eatery is teaming up with Yelp to offer 100 free biscuit sandwiches to its first customers on Thursday, Jan. 20.
When customers use the promo code “YELPTOP100,” they will receive $10 off their online order at both of its locations, which is equivalent to just over the price of its biscuit sandwiches. Early birds can arrive at their preferred location to use the promo code when doors open at 7:30 a.m.
