Field Guide Festival Celebrates Local Chefs, Farmers and Food
The three-day festival returns this spring with chef-farmer collaborations, farm-to-table dining, symposiums and more
Returning for its fourth year, the Field Guide Festival will take place in Austin this spring, benefitting the Central Texas Food Bank. Running from April 25 to 27, the expanded weekend schedule will feature three days of thoughtfully curated events, highlighting Austin’s dynamic culinary scene and the individuals who sustain it.
Since its inception in 2021, Field Guide Festival has remained dedicated to celebrating the Central Texas food system, promoting sustainable practices, and strengthening connections between chefs, farmers and the community. To date, the festival has paid Central Texas chefs and farmers $102,676 for their products and time.
Co-founder Lindsey Sokol shared, “It’s our most expansive festival year to date. Field Guide 2025 isn’t just about growth; it’s about recognition. Our Central Texas food system is vast, and it’s never been more important to shine a light on the chefs, farmers and organizations working to ensure our food scene continues to expand.”
2025 Event Schedule
The weekend begins with the Land to Larder Dinner on Friday, April 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Boggy Creek Farm. This intimate dining experience will feature four chef-farmer collaborations, each crafting a seasonal four-course dinner. The evening will include live-fire outdoor cooking, storytelling from the chefs and farmers, and beverages ranging from wine and spirits to zero-proof options for each course. Tickets are $200 and can be purchased online.
On Saturday, April 26, from 1 to 4 p.m., the Field Guide Symposium will take place at Fiesta Gardens. This event, with tickets priced at $30, will feature engaging discussions led by leaders in food, beverage and agriculture. Topics will include the real cost of food, the impact of farming on communities and how individuals can contribute to the local food system.
The main event, Field Guide Festival, will be held on Sunday, April 27, from noon to 5 p.m. at Fiesta Gardens. This celebration will bring together over 55 chefs and farmers to create seasonal dishes, paired with live fire cooking, a taco omakase experience, pizza happy hour, a pop-up farmers market by Sustainable Food Center and kid-friendly activities. Guests can also enjoy live music, wines, spirits, sustainably sourced coffee and more.
Tickets for the main event are $140 for general admission and $300 for VIP, with discounted general admission tickets for ages 13–20 available for $70. Children 12 and under receive free admission.
Commitment to Sustainability
Field Guide Festival’s “whole-systems” approach emphasizes sustainability and community impact. Proceeds benefit the Central Texas Food Bank, which distributes food and grocery products through a network of approximately 300 partner agencies and mobile food pantries, serving 90,000 neighbors in need each week.
