Radio Coffee & Beer has announced its opening date for the much anticipated second location, Radio/East, at 3504 Montopolis Drive, for Wednesday, October 18. The new location has a two-acre footprint, providing more space for expanded food and drink offerings, live music and more parking.

Jack and his father, Greg Wilson, Radio Coffee & Beer founders, have two new partners, Rick Pierik (owner of Nine Mile Records) and Managing Partner Trey Hudson for the Montopolis location. Their shared vision for Radio is “to provide a welcoming place for the Austin community to drink, eat, and hear the best music,” said Jack Wilson. They will continue to honor the unique qualities of the original location in South Austin, offering premium coffee, a full bar, food truck vendors, live music, and community events.

Kick back with a latte and breakfast tacos

Their food trailer lineup includes Austin’s taco favorite, Veracruz All Natural, a fresh, wood-fired pizza joint, Side Eye Pie, and a Radio team classic American cuisine, Shortwave Diner. Radio’s espresso and drip coffee made by RCB Roasters using the classic Bluegrass Blend will offer seasonal drinks such as the Spiced Maple & Oat Latte and Chai-ball. In addition to their full bar service, they have eight craft beer options on draft, an extensive selection of wine and four rotating craft cocktails.

More music, more events, and more fun

The outdoor stage, with a capacity for 600-700 people, allows for more live music options, and they have plans to host popular performing acts on a larger stage that will accommodate 1,200 fans. Radio/East will be kid and dog-friendly, with a large fenced backyard for plenty of room to play. There are many exciting events to add to the calendar this month at Radio/East such as a Chili Cook-off with live music an Austin flea market on Oct. 28 and A Rocky Horror Halloween show with A Giant Dog with Trouble in the Streets on Oct. 31.

Starting at 7 a.m. on October 18, the first 100 customers will receive free coffee and offer an all-day happy hour. Stay tuned for more updates on the website and follow on social media.
