A conversation with Viva Med Spa's Meagan Whitney reveals sincerity in advice and treatments for patients seeking aesthetic enhancements
Earlier this fall, we were delighted to attend the grand opening of Viva Day Spa & Med Spa’s Round Rock location. While the event centered around the celebration of their latest expansion, it was upon taking a tour of the space that we realized the vast array of services offered at Viva. We admit to having enjoyed many massages, facials, pedicures and restful, rejuvenating spa services, but we had not really ventured into the med spa side of their flourishing business.

We had a lovely encounter with Meagan Whitney, MPAS, PA-C who is a board-certified Physician Assistant at Viva Day Spa + Med Spa. At Viva, Meagan provides aestheic treatments at the north Austin Domain NORTHSIDE location, and quite honestly, she seems to simply love her job. Charmed by her sincerity, we were curious to hear a bit more about what she does and why.
Meet Meagan Whitney
Meagan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center in Fort Worth. She started her PA career in family medicine, but it was her experience in dermatology that helped her realize her interest in aesthetics and injectable treatments. Meagan has been on Viva’s medical team since 2019 as an aesthetic Physician Assistant, specializing in cosmetic injectables and anti-aging treatments.
Admittedly naive to the vast world of med spa treatments, we were curious to chat with Meagan about the variety of services beyond Botox. She lit up with excitement about the opportunity to share her expertise, and we were curious to get a little crash course in “med spa 101.”
Choosing the right treatments
Overwhelmed by the very long list of med spa services offered at Viva, we wondered how anyone has time to research what services they need before making an appointment. To that, Meagan quickly clarified that clients always start with complimentary consultations at Viva. She simply starts by listening to each client’s needs, issues, complaints of problem areas or goals for improvements. She made the very important point that she would never suggest a flaw or point out a problem, but instead, simply gives medical advice about treatments based only on what each client is hoping to achieve.
Meagan noted that while the list of services seems long, they are actually quite curated to include the latest in trusted medical aesthetic products. Given her medical training, it’s Meagan’s job to know what products are right for each individual. Injectables and dermal fillers range from Botox, Dysport, Juvaderm, Restelayne, Sculptra, Kybella, etc., and Meagan is ready to dive into the details of each for anyone looking to soften lines or add facial volume. However, beyond popular fillers that offer quick results, Viva med spa also offer many other non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Clients can opt for laser treatments, hydrafacials, microneedling, chemical peels, etc. Meagan also pointed out that they also offer vaginal rejuvination for women who experience changes post childbirth or menopause, noting that their services go well beyond facial cosmetic treatments.
Chatting with Meagan and the Viva team was really informative, but mostly, we were impressed by their heartfelt desire to simply help clients look and feel their best. It’s easy to assume there’s some level of salesmanship that could occur when sharing such deep vulnerabilities, but we were happily surprised to see a genuine level of care.
