Star Spangled Fest & H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks
Auditorium Shores
July 4
The H-E-B Austin Symphony’s July 4th Concert and Fireworks celebration is back as part of Star Spangled Fest. This year, Auditorium Shores will light up downtown with fireworks over the Austin skyline. Planned, produced and performed by the Austin Symphony, the event will feature a concert at 8:10 p.m. and “mile-high” fireworks at 9:45 p.m. — free and open to the public.

“Singin’ In the Rain”
Zilker Hillside Theater
July 10–August 15
Zilker Theatre Productions celebrates its 67th annual Zilker Summer Musical with “Singin’ In the Rain.” The show, inspired by the classic film, is full of catchy songs and energetic dance numbers, and it runs Thursdays through Sundays at Zilker Hillside Theater. As always, productions are free to attend with donations strongly encouraged to keep the tradition alive.

The Drop-In Summer Concert Series

Every Thursday
The Long Center brings Austin audiences a free weekly concert series on the Long Center lawn all summer long. The event features a diverse lineup of well-known and emerging artists in the heart of downtown. More info.

Blanton All Day: Summer Dance Series – The Swing Edition

Head over to The Blanton and swing into the festivities with live music, art talks, crafts for all ages and more! Enjoy food from Yapa Empanadas and drinks from Haymaker, available for purchase, or bring your own picnic to enjoy outdoors on the museum grounds.

Hot Summer Nights
Red River Cultural District
July 16–18
Back for a ninth year, this free summer music and arts festival takes place at 10+ venues in Austin’s Red River Cultural District featuring 100+ local artists and DJs as well as all-ages daytime programming.

Broadway in Austin presents “& Juliet”
July 14–19
What if Juliet’s story didn’t end with Romeo? Broadway in Austin brings “& Juliet” to Bass Concert Hall this summer, putting a pop-powered twist on Shakespeare’s most famous love story. Created by the Emmy-winning writer of “Schitt’s Creek,” the show mixes romance, comedy and hit songs like “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar” and “Baby One More Time.”

“Annie”
Zach Theatre

Zach Theater presents “Annie,” the beloved story of hope, family and brighter days ahead with classic songs like “Tomorrow” and “It’s the Hard-Knock Life.” The timeless musical follows little orphan Annie as she sets out to find the family she’s always dreamed of, winning over audiences with her spunky spirit, big heart and unwavering optimism.

Room 725: Summer Comedy Series

Fridays through July
Comedy returns to Room 725 this summer, every Friday through July 31, and it’s an evening worth staying for! Experience the best of Austin’s comedic talent including favorites seen at Comedy Mothership, The Creek & The Cave and alike, hosted by Evan Lopez. Reserve a night of laughs in one of the city’s most elevated spaces. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase, with a two-drink minimum required. Ticket holders can also receive 20% off at Fairmont Austin dining outlets on the night of the show.

Summer Classic Film Series
Paramount Theatre
Through Labor Day Weekend
Paramount Theatre is back with its annual Summer Classic Film Series, and this year’s lineup offers the perfect escape from the Texas sun. While the historic downtown theater is currently closed for major renovations, this Austin summer tradition continues with screenings at the State Theatre and Bullock Museum IMAX Theatre. The series offers a cool escape from the heat and a chance to revisit decades of movie magic.
