The Texas Exes will honor the 100 fastest-growing Longhorn-led businesses at the third annual Longhorn 100 Gala on May 2 at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center. The event will reveal this year’s Longhorn 100 rankings and recognize companies that exemplify entrepreneurial excellence.

Café Largesse, a new woman- and Latina-owned restaurant from hospitality veteran Olga Estrella, is now open in the Barton Creek neighborhood. Just in time for the summer heat, Zeds Real Fruit Ice Cream will open its second Austin location on Saturday, May 10 in the Tarrytown neighborhood. Located at 2727 Exposition Blvd., Ste. 128, the shop will be open daily from noon to 10 p.m., serving its signature New Zealand-style soft serve blended with real fruit.

Originally founded in Portland, Oregon, by University of Texas at Austin alumni Matt Potter and Caleb Schmidt, Zeds debuted its first Austin shop in East Austin in July 2021. Known for its made-to-order soft serve, the menu also includes coffee, beer, wine.

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will host a family-friendly celebration on Sunday, May 11, in honor of Mother’s Day. Guests can enjoy live music in the gardens, picnic-friendly bites from Spread & Co., and a hands-on craft workshop where participants can paint a wildflower-themed mug and create a custom tea blend using native yaupon.
