KUTX and its Sunday evening family show, “Spare the Rock, Spoil the Child,” return with their free, family-friendly concert series to the Mueller Lake Park Amphitheater this spring. The community-focused lineup will feature a mix of local talent and nationally recognized artists, with performances scheduled for March 28, April 11 and May 2.
Each evening begins at 6:45 p.m. with an opening act, followed by headliners at 7:30 p.m. The series kicks off Friday, March 28, with performances by Cloud Companion and Grandmaster. On April 11, the Akins High School Mariachi will open for DJ and producer LP Giobbi. The series concludes May 2 with The Telephone Company, followed by hip-hop duo Tribe Mafia.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring water, picnic blankets, and hearing protection for children. Food trucks and restaurants around the park will be open, and outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome. Attendees should note that chairs, glass containers and alcohol are not permitted.

Classical Music For the World (CMFW) proudly presents “The East in the West: Sounds, Minds and Dharma” Spring Festival with events April 18-May 4 featuring performances by Italian artists Francesco Mastromatteo, cello, Noemi Passiatore, classical guitar, University of Austin professor, Sandy Yamamoto, violin, as well as musicians from Austin Symphony Orchestra and the Butler School of Music at UT Austin.
“It’s been said that ‘music is the universal language,’ said CMFW Artistic Advisor Francesco Mastromatteo. “Music is indeed a bridge that transcends national borders, religions, and cultural differences. During our festival, attendees and performers will breathe in the same beautiful sounds while our minds connect in blissful harmony.”
This is the fifth festival produced by CMFW and was made possible through a unique collaboration and sponsorship from the Fo Guang Shan Xiang Yun Temple. Program details and more will be made available online www.classicalmusicfortheworld.org.

Since beginning his recording career in 1997, Andrew Bird has released 18 albums and performed extensively across the globe, headlining concerts at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and festivals worldwide. Bird has been a featured TED Talks presenter, a New Yorker Festival guest, and an op-ed contributor for the New York Times. He performed as the Whistling Caruso in Disney’s The Muppets and scored the FX Series Baskets. Shortly after receiving his 2020 Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album, Bird made his professional acting debut in the cast of FX’s Fargo. In 2025, Bird celebrates the 20th anniversary of his acclaimed record The Mysterious Production of Eggs with a limited run of concerts, performing the record for the first time in its entirety alongside a full orchestra.
