Austin-born musical acts Shinyribs, Sara Hickman, and Carruthers & Roush will headline the third annual Love is for Evermore: National Remembrance Benefit Concert on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. at Radio East.

The concert will raise funds and awareness for Evermore, a national nonprofit dedicated to improving systems and policies that support bereaved people. Founded by Joyal Mulheron, Evermore has successfully advocated for initiatives such as securing paid bereavement leave for members of the U.S. Armed Forces and advancing grief-informed training for first responders.

The evening will also include opening remarks from Mulheron and a “Remembering Those We Love” art installation, where guests can have their loved one’s name engraved on a personal item by Ivelisse Designs. Food trucks and family-friendly activities will be available throughout the night.

The Austin Symphony Orchestra will host a family-friendly Halloween concert featuring spooky classics and pirate-themed favorites.

Pre-concert activities, including musical crafts, games and the Instrument Petting Zoo, begin one hour before the show on the H-E-B Terrace and in the Long Center Lobby.

The program features Leroy Anderson’s “Pirate Dance,” Wagner’s Flying Dutchman Overture, Tchaikovsky’s “Battle Scene” from The Nutcracker, John Williams’ Jaws main title, Arturo Márquez’s Conga del Fuego Nuevo, Borodin’s Polovtzian Dances, Khachaturian’s “Sabre Dance” and Klaus Badelt’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes for a contest with prizes.

Equipment Room has revealed the September and October schedule for its Omakase Vinyl series, a bi-monthly guided listening experience that pairs iconic albums with conversation, food, and cocktails.

The fall lineup includes:

Acclaimed indie-folk band Lord Huron will perform at Austin’s Moody Center on Thursday, October 30, with special guest Feist. The tour follows the release of the band’s highly anticipated fifth album, “The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1,” out July 18.

Fronted by Ben Schneider, Lord Huron is known for their cinematic sound and poetic storytelling. The new album, co-produced by Schneider, features collaborations with actress Kristen Stewart and Blonde Redhead’s Kazu Makino and explores the concept of fate through the metaphor of a cosmic jukebox.

With more than 30 million monthly Spotify listeners and the multi-platinum single “The Night We Met”—one of Spotify’s top 30 most-streamed songs of all time with over 3 billion streams—the band has built a loyal, worldwide audience. Austin-based nonprofit HOME (Housing Opportunities for Musicians and Entertainers) will launch HOMEcoming, a monthlong citywide campaign in November celebrating and supporting the musicians who helped define Austin’s sound. The initiative unites local venues and the community in raising funds to help aging musicians stay housed, cared for, and connected to the city they helped shape.

Participating venues—including Saxon Pub, Antone’s Nightclub, Continental Club, 3TEN at ACL Live, Emo’s, Stubb’s, C-Boys Heart & Soul, Donn’s Depot, Paramount Theatre, and Hole in the Wall—will donate a portion of ticket sales or $1 per ticket throughout November. Proceeds will benefit HOME’s programs providing rent and utility assistance, in-home care, and other essential support for Austin’s music community.

An accompanying online auction will also take place during the campaign, offering additional ways to contribute to the cause.

The 2025 Andy Roddick Foundation Gala will take place on Monday, Nov. 10 at ACL Live, featuring a live performance by three-time Grammy Award winner Wyclef Jean. Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 15 at 9 a.m. CT on ACL Live’s website, starting at $50 for balcony seating and $65 for mezzanine, with a “Date Night Table for 2” available for $100.

Presented by Ketterman Ranch with a VIP cocktail reception sponsored by Fringe Benefit Group, the gala will welcome approximately 2,000 guests for an evening that includes a cocktail reception, program, live auction, elegant dinner, and concert. Proceeds benefit the Andy Roddick Foundation, Central Texas’s leading organization providing high-quality afterschool and summer learning programs to enrich the lives of children.

The Vistas program includes “Cardinal Craig”, inspired by a particularly vocal neighborhood cardinal; “Two Nabokov Pieces”, neo-romantic character sketches drawn from Vladimir Nabokov’s literary world; “Vistas”, a reflective commission that serves as the concert’s centerpiece; and “The Trees are Talking”, a suite of pieces inspired by native Texas trees imagined as if they could speak.

The Duo will also premiere a brand-new work written especially for this concert, with a few surprises in store — including the addition of melodicas.

The album was produced by Grammy-winner Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus), while its 12 songs were arranged by the members of New York-based chamber ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra. St. Vincent, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, and the Smile drummer Tom Skinner also make appearances on the album, which is led by the single “Everybody Laughs.” Along with the song, Byrne has released its official video, directed by multimedia artist Gabriel Barcia-Colombo.

The touring band will comprise 13 musicians, singers and dancers, including members of the American Utopia band, all of whom will be mobile throughout the set.
