The Heller Awards for Young Artists (HAYA), Central Texas’ premier high school musical theater awards program, will take the stage at Bass Concert Hall for the first time in 2026. Now under the leadership of Texas Performing Arts (TPA) in collaboration with Impact Arts, the move marks a major new chapter for the program, which has grown from 19 participating schools at its founding in 2014 to 37 schools in 2025, impacting more than 20,000 students and educators.
Modeled after the Tony Awards®, the HAYAs recognize excellence both on stage and behind the scenes, with 19 award categories including best production, lead and supporting performances, and technical design. Winners are also eligible to advance to the National High School Musical Theatre Awards® (The Jimmy Awards®) in New York City.
